We are Not OK with This Plan

Raise your hand if you’re in favor of:
- People being rounded up by armed, masked men and women without identification.
- People being held in detention centers and deported without due process.
- Textbooks, websites, and interpretive signs at national parks being scrubbed of any mention of slavery; the attempted extermination of Native Americans; discrimination against women, people of color, and LGBTQ people; and accomplishments by members of those groups.
- Lying about our economy and firing those who don’t go along with the lying.
- Stopping scientific studies that could lead to advances in the treatment or elimination of deadly diseases.
- Defunding and ravaging our education system, from preschool through university.
- Hungry and starving children.
- Health care only for the wealthy.
- Nursing homes that will not accept Medicaid patients.
- Eliminating FEMA and defunding weather-related agencies.
- A big, beautiful database with all your personal, financial, health, and other private information open to the entire U.S. government and perhaps other governments and select corporations.
- Reduced cybersecurity and other security protections for government, military, and other public entities.
- Polluted water and air.
- Unqualified and incompetent people instituting policies and making decisions that violate the Constitution, federal and state laws, and congressional mandates.
- Using Defense Department funds designated for updating nuclear weapon silos to trick out Trump’s airplane gifted by Qatar.
- Raise your hand if you support dismantling our government piece by piece, protection by protection, civil right by civil right.
What is the goal of such sinister and craven attacks on the American people except to replace our democracy with an autocratic regime for and by the haves and the wannabes, the powerful and the power-hungry? I and a growing number of people are not OK with that plan, and we’re going to do everything we can to thwart it. Will you join us?
